How AfriversalAI collects, uses, and protects your personal information — in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013.

AfriversalAI is an AI literacy training initiative operated by its founders (the Responsible Party under POPIA). We offer AI literacy courses and training programmes for South African professionals and organisations.

When you submit a registration or contact form on this site, we collect the personal information you provide. This may include:

We do not collect ID numbers, passport details, or sensitive personal information (as defined in POPIA Section 26) unless required for SETA assessment and accreditation purposes, in which case this will be collected separately with your explicit consent.

4. How your information is processed

Form submissions

Our contact and registration forms are powered by Formspree (Formspree Inc.), a third-party form processing service. When you submit a form, your data is transmitted to and temporarily stored on Formspree's servers, which are located in the United States.

Cross-border transfer notice (POPIA Section 72): By submitting a form on this site, you acknowledge that your personal information will be transferred to the United States for processing. Formspree's privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. We have determined that Formspree maintains reasonable data protection standards equivalent to POPIA requirements.

Your submitted information is forwarded to AfriversalAI's email inbox and may be stored in our email system. We use standard email security practices to protect this data.

5. How long we keep your information

We retain your contact and registration information for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, or until you request deletion — whichever comes first. If you enrol in a course, we retain your assessment records for 5 years for certification purposes.

7. Cookies and tracking

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and does not set any tracking cookies. We use Google Fonts, which loads fonts from Google's servers and may log your IP address as part of the font delivery request. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioural tracking tools.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your personal information, including HTTPS encryption on all pages and spam filtering on all forms. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to registered learners via email.
